Colin Hawkins Joins the Runnin' Bulldogs at Gardner Webb

The post graduate program once again found reason to celebrate here at Sunrise Christian Academy when news of guard Colin Hawkins' commitment to Gardner Webb University went public today. Colin came to SCA in August of 2023 and committed to doing whatever it took to reach the next level and earn a Division 1 scholarship. Eventually the staff at Gardner Webb came calling and he developed a relationship with then assistant coach Jeremy Luther.

When head coach Tim Craft departed this offseason to become head coach at another program, Luther took over and immediately turned his attention to Colin. An official visit was arranged, and the rest was history.

Regarding his time at Sunrise, Colin is nothing but smiles saying, "Sunrise gave me limitless opportunities to grow both on and off the court. I was able to be pushed in the weight room and pushed to be better in everything I did. Not only that but I feel like I grew so much closer to God and had the support to help me do so."

Sunrise Christian Academy wishes Colin the best of luck going forward and can't wait to see how he continues the story of #SunriseSuccess at the next level.
