Alex Barther II ('26) Joins the Sunrise Family
Wichita, KS - Sunrise Christian Academy is thrilled to announce the enrollment of Alex Barther II, a standout guard from Fort Worth, Texas. Standing at 6'5", Alex is set to graduate in 2026 and plays spring & summer ball with Southern Assault (Adidas 3SSB).
"At Sunrise Christian Academy, we pride ourselves on maximizing the potential of our athletes through proven processes and exceptional people," stated Head Coach Kyle Lindsted. "Alex is a young man who from the very beginning showed great feel on the court and the ability to get the ball where it needed to be. We are very excited about adding a player and person of his caliber. With his height and length he will be able to defend multiple positions and compete whenever he is on the floor. His family's understanding of focusing on development and the process will only continue to drive him towards the bright future in front of him."
Discussing his decision, Alex shared, "I chose to transfer to Sunrise because I was drawn to the school's emphasis on personal growth and development which aligns with my goals. I am blessed and excited to start a new journey with SCA."
"When recruits and their families commit to being a part of Sunrise Christian Academy, that is Day 1," noted Coach Kyle Lindsted. "We're going to do everything in our power to help Alex be his very best and are excited that the Barther family has made the decision to join the same family as many Buffaloes before them."
Sunrise Christian Academy looks forward to Alex's arrival in August and his future contributions to both the school & basketball program, aiming for its sixth High School Nationals appearance in the past seven years and second NIBC/EYBL Scholastic title in the fourth year of the conference's existence.
