Mekhi Ragland ('25) Joins the Sunrise Family
Wichita, KS - Sunrise Christian Academy is thrilled to announce the enrollment of Mekhi Ragland, a part of the class of 2025 from Lilburn, GA. Mekhi has ranked as one of the top forwards in his class. In a 2023 article, Jamie Shaw wrote about him saying, "What intrigues the most with Ragland is his feel... He has excellent touch with great hands, and he sets up a big target on the block. His passing, however, is what sets him apart from his peers. He caught the ball facing from the high post and on the block and his team was able to run actions off of him. He is a strong area rebounder and a great outlet passer. There is a unique nature to his game and skill set. He has an old-school big frame but he produces numbers in a modern way."
Head Coach Kyle Lindsted shared his excitement on Mekhi's commitment stating, "Mekhi came to us highly recommended and we can't wait to get to work with him. He has a natural feel and tools that are incredibly hard to teach. At the same time, we see a ceiling for him here where as he puts in the work he's going to turn into an even more invaluable player and person to wherever he chooses to attend college beyond his senior year at Sunrise."
"When recruits and their families commit to being a part of Sunrise Christian Academy, that is Day 1," noted Coach Kyle Lindsted. "We're always going to do everything we can to empower Mekhi to be his very best and are excited that the Ragland family has made the decision to join the same family as many Buffaloes before them."
Sunrise Christian Academy looks forward to Mekhi's arrival in August and their future contributions to both the school & basketball program, aiming for its sixth High School Nationals appearance in the past seven years and second NIBC/EYBL Scholastic title in the fourth year of the conference's existence.

As with each commitment, Mekhi will begin a personalized off-season strength & conditioning program designed by Kerry Rosenboom to prepare them for arrival in August. He will also begin an individual development plan as well as start guided film review for both on and off the court growth prior to on-campus arrival.
Sunrise Christian Academy is a college-preparatory, nondenominational, K4-12 Christian school graduating 45-50 seniors each year with enrollment well over 600 students.
